Professional Truck Driver Training
(in partnership with the College of New Caledonia)

  The following is a list of Courses offered by Taylor Professional Driver Training

This four (4) week program is the total package for the student that wants more than to just have a Class 1 license. The first portion of this course consist of sixteen hours of classroom theory covering such topics as tire chains, log books, border crossings, weights, loading and securing techniques, as well as, extreme driving and many other important topics that will help you to avoid unnecessary delays and possible fines. Hands on driver training will include three (3) eight hour highway trips involving more challenging terrain and weather conditions.

This three (3) week program is for the student that wants more than a Class 1 license. It starts in the classroom covering the basics that you will be required to know as a Professional Driver followed by approximately 28 hours of hands on driver training. After passing your road test, training continues with three (3) eight hour highway trips involving more challenging terrain and weather conditions.

This program has no minimum number of hours of instruction required and was developed to train drivers in the correct and safe method of operating a tractor-trailer unit. This training will meet and/or exceed Industry standards as well as further your knowledge and experience of working in and around this industry.

Designed to train drivers in the correct and safe operation of a Class three (3) tandem axle truck, this program has no minimum hours of instruction required. This Course prepares the student to work in various fields including, gravel truck, vacuum truck, garbage or recycling truck.

Designed to train drivers in the correct and safe method of operating Class Four Vehicles, this program has no minimum number of hours of instruction required. This training will meet and/or exceed Industry standards as well as further your knowledge and experience of working in and around this industry.

We have two programs for Air Brakes training. The 16 hour course is intended for students upgrading their license within 30 days of completion. This is a two-day (8 hours per) program held on weekends. The 20 hour course is a full blown classroom plus practicum training for those who have no previous experience.
